Additional Defensive Depth with Zach

Following the first weekend of Streaming Series games, AIB Milton Keynes Lightning have added further depth to the defensive unit with the signing for the remainder of the Streaming Series of Zach Sullivan from Manchester Storm. Lightning Head Coach Lewis Clifford had this to say: "I’m really happy to have Sully on board for the remainder of the Streaming Series.  We are a little short at the back at the moment so to have a player of his quality contact me and want to play is a huge boost. Sully is a solid Elite League defenceman and he will make the right plays at the right times to keep us moving up the ice and be a big help with our transition game." Zach added: "I’m really excited to be a part of MKL for the rest of the Streaming Series.  Hopefully it is a huge success which showcases British hockey in the best possible way and leads to further games and a season [...]

Goaltending tandem complete as Lawday commits to pull on the Zeus mask for 2020/21

Milton Keynes Lightning goaltending duties are in safe hands as we welcome back Jordan Lawday to the squad.  21 year old Jordan will be starting his third MK season after stepping up from MK Thunder to join Lightning at the beginning of last year.  He made 37 appearances and posted a 89.8% save percentage.   His strong 2019/20 season was unfortunately interrupted mid-way through the year by an injury as Lightning Head Coach Lewis Clifford explains: “Jordan had a bit of a stop start season last time round, but he showed in his performances why he’s so highly thought of in UK hockey circles. Since I first coached Jordan in the under 15’s I have seen him develop, improve and grow, and get better every year.”   Jordan himself felt his disrupted season affected his consistency a little, and is keen to get back at it: “I personally didn’t perform how I wanted to last year but it’s been a long summer of training [...]
