Milton Keynes Lightning ice hockey team is pleased to announce the signing of goaltender Daniel Norton for the upcoming 2023/24 season. Norton will be joining the team on a two-way contract with Milton Keynes Thunder as part of the MK Talent Pathway, showcasing the club’s commitment to nurturing young talent.

18 year old Daniel’s addition to the Lightning roster brings an exciting new prospect to the goaltending position.

Norton started his career in Coventry  in England.  Progressing through the ranks in 2018/19 Norton spent time with the Bradford Bulldogs U15 and Sheffield Greyhounds in England U15 further developed his skills, with save percentages of .866 and .859 in the respective seasons.

As he moved up to the England U18 level and the Bradford Bulldogs U18 team during the 2019-20 season, Norton continued to show promise, achieving a .882 save percentage. His performance for the Bradford Bulldogs U15 in the same season was also commendable, with a .890 save percentage.

Norton later gained international exposure, playing for the Northwood School 16U AAA and Northwood School Huskies Varsity teams in the USA. Although statistics for those seasons are not available, Norton’s experience in North American competition undoubtedly contributed to his growth as a player.
