Milton Keynes Lightning is pleased to announce the signing of promising defenseman, Ben Davies, for the upcoming 2023/24 season. The 21-year-old Welsh player will be joining the team on a two-way contract with Milton Keynes Thunder, strengthening the MK Talent Pathway and reflecting the club’s commitment to developing emerging talent.
Born on July 15, 2002, in Llantrisant, Wales, Ben Davies has already showcased impressive skills, determination, and passion for the sport. Standing at 187 cm / 6’2″ and weighing 83 kg / 183 lbs, Davies brings both size and finesse to the blue line, making him a valuable asset on the ice.
Davies’ journey to this point has been marked by steady progress through the ranks of the Cardiff Devils youth team. Throughout his playing career, he has proven his ability to contribute both defensively and offensively, making him a well-rounded defenseman.
Notable highlights from his playing career include stints with the CIHA Voyageurs U18 AA, where he tallied 8 points in 20 games, as well as his time with the Florida Jr. Blades in the USPHL Elite and Premier leagues, where he combined for 8 points in 34 games.

He skates and handles the puck extremely well for his age and will be a great fit for the MK development pathway. He will add depth to our roster and allow us to operate at full speed for the entire season, something I felt we have lacked in the past.
