MK Lightning is thrilled to announce the signing of Dillon Lawrence, a highly talented centreman, for the upcoming 2023/24 season. After an impressive stint in the Elite League with the Fife Flyers, Dundee Stars, and Coventry Blaze, Dillon is set to bring his skills and experience to MK Lightning.
Hailing from the hockey-rich city of Toronto, Dillon Lawrence honed his craft in the junior ranks with the Toronto Eagles before taking his talents to Boston, USA, where he attended university. His dedication and commitment to the sport have propelled him to new heights, earning him a well-deserved reputation as a skilled centreman.
During his time with the Fife Flyers, Dillon showcased his abilities in 43 games, tallying 8 goals and 8 assists. Now, Dillion is ready to embark on a new chapter in his career, donning the MK Lightning jersey with pride.
MK Lightning Head Coach Tim Wallace, who has closely followed Dillon’s progress over the past five years, expressed his excitement about having him on the team. Coach Wallace remarked, “I have coached and played against Dillon for the last 5 years and am glad to have him in a Lightning jersey. Dillion is a true centre with size and speed. He is great on draws and has a great shot. If he puts in the work this summer, then he will get an opportunity to show his offensive upside, which will be fun to watch.”
Eager for his new opportunity in MK, Dillon Lawrence shared his thoughts on joining the Lightning. He said, “I’m excited for a new opportunity in MK and looking forward to having fun on the ice and competing for some silverware. I always remember the good atmosphere playing away against the Lightning back in the EI, so it’ll be nice to be able to experience that again and play in front of the fans.”
