With the Milton Keynes Lightning team nearing completion, we’re delighted to confirm the return of our defensive rock Lewis Christie for an 11th season in MKL colours. 30 year old Edinburgh born Lewy brings vast experience with him from a distinguished career across the British leagues and international representation at under 18 and under 20 level. Last season he made 40 appearances picking up a goal and 6 assists in a season which started late when Lewy stepped into the roster as short term injury cover after which we could never let him go! Defenceman of the Year Leigh Jamieson commits for 2020/21
Following last week’s signing of James Griffin, we’re delighted to reveal a further strengthening of our defensive capabilities with the re-signing of last season’s Defenceman of Year Leigh Jamieson. A long-time servant of the club, 34-year-old Leigh celebrated his 500th league appearance for MKL towards the end of last season, as part of a career which also includes Elite experience and international honours at World Championships and Olympic qualifier levels. Leigh is MK born and raised and started his hockey career in the MK junior system playing for the Storm. Hotshot forward Liam Stewart has put pen to paper for the club for next season and we couldn't be happier. 25-year-old Liam has had an extraordinary impact on and off the ice for Smith Recycling Milton Keynes Lightning since his arrival. Taylor Dickin signs for the rest of the season
We are delighted to introduce the newest addition to the Smith Recycling Milton Keynes Lightning squad. Taylor Dickin joins us from Southern Professional Hockey League club Birmingham Bulls in Alabama, USA. He has signed for the rest of the season, in a move forced by the injury to Robin Kovar. 31 year old Taylor is a dual Canadian / British passport holder, and brings with him extensive playing experience across USA and Canada, as well as over 150 Elite League appearances with Edinburgh Capitals, Manchester Storm and Dundee Stars scoring 85 points and 29 goals.
