MK Lightning TV has developed a reputation for quality and reliability amongst ice hockey fans. This is by no means an accident, it is the result of investment and hard work.
Streaming from inside the cold, humid metal structure that is Planet Ice MK comes with a few challenges as our resident commentator Chris Dickens would testify.
Fortunately MKL has been supported for a number of years by local business Oakhill Voice Solutions who have repeatedly gone above and beyond to make sure that our data connectivity is in place for match nights. Coming after a period of disuse thanks to lockdowns, the start of this season brought unique challenges that needed a new fibre circuit provision and connectivity improvements.
For those supporters who watch the Lightning TV stream, you are probably aware that reliable network bandwidth to the internet is needed to provide a smooth and quality viewing experience. It is Oakhill who make that possible, providing exceptional levels of service and support – even out of normal working hours.
On top of this, Oakhill also provide connectivity for key areas such as the new ticket scanners used when you enter the arena and the scorers bench so that match data can be uploaded to meet league and competition requirements. Again, new for this season is the potential for coach Lewis Clifford to show videos of plays to the team during period breaks in the changing room.
MK lightning were also thankful for the support from Oakhill when supporters were not allowed in the rink. Without Oakhill’s network expertise and flexibility, the well-received Streaming Series would not have been possible.
Lightning CEO, Claire Eason-Bassett commented “We are very lucky to have the support of some terrific partners, but it is fair to say that season after season Oakhill Voice Solutions pull out all the stops to make sure that we can provide a league-leading streaming service. Network reliability is critical for Lightning TV, the door scanners and scorers and in this regard Oakhill remove what could be a significant headache making that part of match nights much easier”.
Karl Nason, Managing Director of Oakhill Voice Solutions, himself a long-term supporter of MKL, added “It is great to finally see ice hockey back up and running after what seemed like a never-ending break. We are thrilled to continue our support for club and delighted to continue our association with Lightning TV. Judging by the matches so far, we are in for an exciting season”.
MK Lightning are delighted to confirm Oakhill Voice Solutions as official Communications Partner for the 2021/22 season.
