MK Lightning, is thrilled to announce the signing of talented goaltender Will Kerlin for the upcoming 2023/24 season. This marks Kerlin’s first time joining the MKL roster, and his addition is expected to bolster the team’s strength between the pipes.

Kerlin, who hails from Bedford, began his ice hockey journey with MK Storm before venturing overseas to Canada to further develop his skills. Upon his return to the UK, he joined the Elite league, representing both the Panthers and the Steelers. Now, he returns to his roots, signing with MK Lightning to embrace the opportunity of playing for his childhood club.

During his time with the Bristol Pitbulls last year he maintained a save rate of 0.882, over 50 games.

Head Coach Tim Wallace, who previously worked with Kerlin in Nottingham, expressed his enthusiasm for the new addition to the team. “I have coached Will in Nottingham, and he played exceptionally well when given the chance,” said Wallace. “He is well liked by his teammates and has a great work ethic. Will has been a starter in this league and will provide us with a strong goalie tandem throughout the year.”

Kerlin himself shared his excitement about returning to the club where it all began. “I am very excited to be able to return to the club where I played as a boy,” stated Kerlin. “I can’t wait to work with Tim and Joe again. I am eager for the season to start and thrilled to have the opportunity to play in front of the amazing fans of the Lightning.”
