Time for the next set of players taking to the ice with Ross Green for his Testimonial on the 4th May 24.

Details of whose jerseys are Own and Loan are included  – please follow the instructions at the bottom of the post.

TOMS RUTKIS

Born in Latvia but registered as a Brit, Toms signed for the Lightning bringing with him the experience of six seasons having played at Elite level, with the Cardiff Devils, Coventry Blaze and Dundee Stars, and a knowledge of NIHL hockey too from a decade within the Swindon organisation.  Toms’ skill has also seen him previously wear GB colours at both U18 and U20 levels.  In this, his first season with MKL, he’s proved his worth by picking up 35 points in 44 games, as skilful at assisting goals as he is scoring them!

DILLON LAWRENCE

Hailing from the hockey-rich city of Toronto in Canada, Dillon honed his craft in the junior ranks with the Toronto Eagles before taking his talents to Boston, USA, where he attended university. His dedication and commitment to the sport have propelled him to new heights, earning him a well-deserved reputation as a skilled centreman. A move to the UK in 2017 saw him build his reputation in the EIHL for five seasons, before signing for Lightning in 2023, where his name is on the scoresheet regularly!

CARTER HAMILL

Belfast-born Carter joined MKL for the 23-24 season after winning silverware last year with the Leeds Knights. Whilst injury has limited the number of appearances he’s been able to make for us so far we know the promise is there, and he proved it wearing GB colours earlier this year – with three goals and two assists for Great Britain U20’s at the World Championships, and we can’t wait to see what he can do for Lightning in the remainder of this season!  Own and Loan Available

CAMERON HAMILL

Cam saw action in a Lightning jersey a season before his brother Carter joined us – Cameron arriving towards the end of the 22-23 season on a two way deal with Solway Sharks, Prior to that he’d also played for our NIHL rivals Hull Seahawks, having learned his skills with the EIHL Belfast Giants organisation.  Cam pulled on the GB colours for 4 games at U20 level this year, having previously iced at U18 level.  Own and Loan Available

BEN BROWN

Ben was another inspired pick-up from the Elite league by Tim Wallace, the Dundee-born player having spent his entire career with the Dundee Stars organisation before moving to Buckinghamshire last year. He’s yet another talented young player whose ability saw him earn selections for GB at U18 and U20 levels. Own and Loan Available

JAMIE LINE

Jamie learned his hockey with teams including Swindon, Telford and Bracknell progressing through the junior leagues, before signing on a two way contract with MK Thunder and MK Lightning in 2010. After a short break he returned to MK in 2014, Captaining Thunder for four consecutive seasons, before hanging up his skates after the 2018-19 campaign.

BOBBY CHAMBERLAIN

What else can we say about Bobby that you don’t already know? He’s a points scorer with an uncompromising style – a player that can be difficult to play against but you love him in your own team’s colours! His reaction to seeing a late, game-winning goal when he shared the Lightning TV mic with Chris Dickens last season spoke volumes about his passion for the sport.

GLENN BILLING

Romford-born Glenn joined MKL in summer 2015 and played more than 100 regular season games before departing for Peterborough Phantoms. Glenn currently plays for Swindon Wildcats where he is their second highest points-scoring British player.  Own and Loan Available

LUC JOHNSON

As well as being a time-served Milton Keynes hockey stalwart with Storm, Thunder and Lightning, MK-born Luc captained both the Great Britain U18 and U20s – winning bronze medals at two successive World Junior Championships.  He played more than 100 games wearing Lightning’s colours and currently plays for our NIHL rivals, Swindon Wildcats.
