Planning is well underway for the testimonial evening for Lightning Alternate Captain Ross Green on the 4th May 24 and we can now exclusively reveal the first players who’ll be joining #21 for his big night!

We’ll release details soon on what players jerseys will be available for Own and Loan, and which ones will be included in match night and online raffles, so watch this space.  You’ll need to see the jersey too…… there is so much happening behind the scenes!

GRANT MCPHERSON

Another player whose shirt was raised to the rafters, “G Man” played over 500 games in Lightning colours, gaining a reputation as a quick and combative player who wouldn’t hesitate to stand up for his team when necessary – and holds the record for the most penalty minutes for any Lightning player…but we wouldn’t have had him any other way!

ADAM CARR

“Carsy” learned the game in his native north east  of England but played the majority of his career in MK, wearing the coveted ‘C’ for eight of his 14 seasons here, and his shirt number was retired and hangs from the rafters reflecting his status in MK.

RORY HERRMAN

Rory only had his first taste of the British game last season after short spells with Cardiff Devils and Telford Tigers and has endeared himself to the Lightning faithful this season, becoming our top scorer, averaging more than two points per game. He learned the sport with the LA Junior Kings and Anaheim Junior Ducks amongst others, progressing through the collegiate hockey network before coming to the UK.

MACK STEWART

Elite League prospect Mack graduated from the Belfast Junior Giants U20 side into playing in the NIHL National Division with Leeds Knights in 2021-22, He helped secure a silver medal for GB at the Youth Winter Olympics in January 2020 and at the U20 World Junior Championships last summer scored four goals and five assists – the third highest points return in the entire tournament! Mack is currently on a two way contract between Lightning and his hometown club Belfast Giants.

JORDAN HEDLEY

Another dyed-in-the-wool Milton Keynes player, Jordan has made the MK goal a place where opposition forwards fear to tread, with the second highest save percentage this season – regularly ‘standing on his head’ to stop the puck passing. He’s also represented Great Britain at U18, U20 and senior men’s level and he’s overcome a shoulder injury earlier this season to return in great form for us.

MILIQUE MARTELLY

After spending his early hockey career in the Streatham youth system, Milique first played for Lightning in the 2021-22 season on a two-way contract with the London side, thanks to MKL’s close links with Streatham’s then player-coach Michael Farn. Since then, he’s become a real fan favourite, using his speed and skill to stop many an opposition forward!

ROSS BOWERS

‘Rosco’ spent all but two seasons of his 20 year playing career in Milton Keynes having iced for the Kings before moving to MKL. Whilst longer-standing fans will remember his no-nonsense attitude on the ice, more recent supporters will have seen him on the bench as Assistant Coach before he hung up his skates.

TOM CARLON

Another hugely-experienced player, Tom’s career spanned two decades. A popular figure with Lightning supporters, these days TC is monitoring the development of the next generation of hockey players, as older son Louie plays for Coventry Blaze juniors – with youngest son Ollie also showing an aptitude!
