This partnership has been baking in the oven for a while, and now it’s ready to serve. Introducing a brand new strategic relationship for the All In Black MK Lightning as Brioche Pasquier becomes our Official Engagement and Communities Partner.  Brioche Pasquier already plays a significant role in the Milton Keynes community through its relationship with MK Dons SET, and we’re thrilled that they are extending their sporting support by working with Lightning this year.

Brioche Pasquier is a well-known, global brand, which has been operating in Milton Keynes since 2001 and started baking in 2014. Its range includes PITCH, one of the company’s most popular products, which are delicious brioche rolls with chocolate chips or filled with a smooth, hazelnut chocolate centre. They are perfect for on- the- go, a quick snack or as a treat in children’s lunch boxes.

Speaking about the relationship, Amy Carey from Brioche Pasquier told us: “We are thrilled to support MK Lightning by fuelling the team and their fans with our delicious PITCH Brioche Rolls. It doesn’t stop there…we are not only an official club partner but also partner of the MK Lightning Engagement Programme, helping to educate young people on the importance of sport.”

The Engagement Programme will aim to build on a last year’s schools programme. This will see MK Lightning Head Coach Lewis Clifford and his players heading into schools (virtually for the moment) to share information about Ice Hockey, how to get involved in the sport, and the importance of exercise and a balanced diet in overall health.

MK Lightning CEO Claire Eason-Bassett explained the overall importance of our new relationship: “Lightning has been an important fixture in the Milton Keynes community since we were formed in 2002 and we’re delighted that Brioche Pasquier is supporting us as we look to further develop this programme.  The key aims of the engagement are to ensure we are playing our role in the community and adopting the ‘Hockey is for Everyone’ principles of inclusion, openness, and consideration.”

“These two aims will allow us as a club to generate awareness in ice hockey in the broadest of communities, drive interest in participation and ensure everyone feels welcome and excited to attend an Ice Hockey match.”

On the participation side, Lightning Head Coach Lewis Clifford said: “I firmly believe that there is hockey talent hiding in Milton Keynes!  We are working hard to break down the barriers to playing the sport we love, and our long-term plan is to develop our MK Hockey Family, working with MK Storm juniors and Planet Ice, to provide the Lightning players of the future.  Brioche Pasquier’s support for me and the boys to head into schools and share our message is a massive part of this, and we’re really grateful.”

Welcome on board Brioche Pasquier as our Official Engagement and Community partner. Look out for them in your child’s school assembly, and be sure to pick up some yummy samples of PITCH when we’re back playing in the rink. Delicious!
