lifestack Milton Keynes Lightning are delighted to announce the signing of import forward Danny Weight for the 2026/27 NIHL National Division season.
The 24-year-old forward, born in Edmonton, Alberta, arrives in Milton Keynes after working his way through a strong North American development pathway. Weight spent a season at Boston College before moving on to Colorado College for three years, and completed his collegiate career at American International College, gaining experience at one of the highest levels of NCAA hockey along the way.
Weight made the step into the professional ranks in 2025/26 with the Birmingham Bulls of the SPHL, recording 26 points from 9 goals and 17 assists in 29 games, a near point-per-game return in his rookie professional season. His form included a standout run in January 2026, when he was named Warrior Hockey SPHL Player of the Week after scoring three goals and adding an assist across a two-game stretch, including an overtime game-winner.
A smart, versatile forward with a strong hockey IQ, Weight is comfortable playing across all three forward positions and is known for making plays and taking care of the details in his own end.
Speaking on his move to Milton Keynes, Danny Weight said:
“Really excited to be joining the team and getting to Milton Keynes. I’ve heard nothing but great things about the organization and the fans. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and getting the season started.”

Danny has played in some really strong programs during his development journey and last played his first year in pro where he was just under a point a game in the SPHL. He is a smart player, makes plays, has strong details and has a good hockey IQ. Danny brings good flexibility and can play across any of the forward positions.”
Weight’s arrival adds further depth and versatility to a lifestack Milton Keynes Lightning roster building towards the 2026/27 campaign, with the club continuing to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.
