It’s another step closer to the return of hockey to your Saturday nights.
As we get ready for the new 2022/23 Planet Ice NIHL National Division season, we’re planning our warmup weekend including a very special collaboration with MK Thunder. On Sunday 4th September from 5-7pm, Lightning and Thunder will combine for a warmup game. After this, the players will head up to the bar for a meet and greet and catchup.
The game will be played across 3×20 min periods running clock, and lines will be matched to play against each other, changing on a buzzer every 75 seconds. The format will be that 2 Lightning lines play each other, then 2 Thunder lines play each other, and so in. All goals count! We think this will give a great chance for both sides to have an early workout, get to play together, and a chance for you to see the team in action.
Following the game, the players will make their way up to the bar for an introduction and a Q&A session hosted by Chris Dickens. If you’d like to ask a question, please submit it using this link.
To help us cover the costs of this event, we need to charge an entry fee. Tickets are priced at £5 for Adults, £2 for Concessions and £1 for children. Once costs are covered, any profits will be donated to junior development.
