Ross Bowers has stepped down as MKL Assistant Coach. He joined the MKL coaching team at the start of the 2019/20 Season and has played a key role around the club.  We are hugely grateful for all he has done and wish him all the best.

Ross has had a long and impactful career in MK ice hockey, and has been racking up points since his first Lightning appearance as a 16 year old back in 2002/02.  Since then he has spent the vast majority of his hockey career in MK colours.  All in all, he made 415 MK Lightning appearances, scoring 89 goals and 85 assists, as well as 181 MK Thunder appearances scoring 125 goals and 129 assists.

Since the start of the 2019/20 season, Ross has been (mostly) behind the bench as Assistant Coach and on match nights has taken an active lead running our forward lines.  In his coaching capacity, he’s been known for being a straight talker and giving sound advice and guidance to the players during games and in practices.  He also dusted off his playing gear for a few appearances in 2019/20 and during the pre-season cup this year which showed the breadth of contribution to the club.

Ross has given great deal to MK ice hockey, and leaves to focus on other things.  His skill and wit will be missed around the team, and it will be great to continue to see him around the rink enjoying games from time to time.

Thanks for all you have done for MK ice hockey Ross, and all the best for the future.
