Last Week's Action

Last Week's Man of the Match

23 - Dominik Gabaj
37 - Patrik Forsberg

Dominik Gabaj picked up the Man of the Match award after an energetic and impactful performance against the Bison on Saturday night. The forward recorded two assists on the night, but it was his all-round display that really stood out. Gabaj played with relentless pace and aggression, seemingly popping up everywhere across the ice. He pressured the opposition, intercepted passes, and helped drive the Lightning forward throughout the game. His work rate and vision made him a constant presence in the play and a key contributor to the teamโ€™s performance.

Patrik Forsberg earned the Man of the Match award in Sundayโ€™s away game against the Phantoms with a commanding performance on the blue line. An unmistakable presence whenever heโ€™s on the ice, Forsberg delivered a strong defensive display, using his size and strength to make life difficult for the opposition all night. Tough to get past and never afraid to step into the battle, he consistently disrupted plays, protected the defensive zone, and brought a physical edge whenever it was needed. His reliability and presence at the back made him a standout performer for the Lightning.

Romford Raiders: Notable Players

Tjay Anderson

Tjay Anderson continues to be a major driving force in Romfordโ€™s offence and one of the most productive forwards in the NIHL. Still young but already deeply established in the Raiders lineup, he combines pace with sharp vision and a willingness to attack space through the neutral zone. His recent output underlines just how dangerous he can be when games open up, particularly on quick transitions. In the 2025โ€“2026 NIHL season he has produced consistently across the schedule, making him someone defence players will need to track closely whenever he steps over the boards (2025โ€“2026 โ€ข NIHL โ€ข Romford Raiders: GP 50, Gโ€“Aโ€“P 38โ€“43โ€“81, PIM 42).

Jake Sylvester

Jake Sylvester remains one of the most recognisable attacking figures in the Raiders lineup. A long-time Romford forward, he has built a reputation for finding scoring areas and capitalising on opportunities around the net. His production has remained remarkably steady over recent seasons in the NIHL, reflecting both experience and a nose for goal. Sylvesterโ€™s ability to convert chances means he rarely needs many looks to influence a game, particularly on the power play or when space opens up late in periods. His latest campaign again highlights that finishing touch (2025โ€“2026 โ€ข NIHL โ€ข Romford Raiders: GP 49, Gโ€“Aโ€“P 42โ€“29โ€“71, PIM 35).

Jarrett Baker

Across the lineup, Jarrett Baker adds a different dimension to Romfordโ€™s attack with a blend of physicality and playmaking awareness. The Canadian forward arrived with experience from major junior and university hockey and has quickly become a noticeable presence in the NIHL. Baker tends to be involved in the heavier areas of the game, working the boards and creating opportunities through pressure and puck retrieval. That work rate often translates directly into points, as shown during the current NIHL campaign where he has contributed regularly while also bringing an edge to proceedings (2025โ€“2026 โ€ข NIHL โ€ข Romford Raiders: GP 51, Gโ€“Aโ€“P 23โ€“38โ€“61, PIM 38).
