Coach's Comments

Tim Wallace - MKL Head Coach
Tim Wallace MK Lightning Coach 25/26

If a few more bounces went our way, we could’ve walked away with four points. Saturday we played soft and slow for most of the game. Everytime we would get some momentum we would take a penalty. This was a tough loss to take and not what MK is all about.

Sunday we demanded more from each other and found some pushback. Against Sheffield we played hard and desperate, built some confidence and camaraderie. The effort was there, but we lacked execution at key moments. We will do whatever is necessary to find consistency.

Player Profile

96 - Jarvis Hunt

Jarvis Hunt – Centre (#96)

English centre Jarvis Hunt arrives in Milton Keynes after establishing himself as a reliable two-way presence with the Peterborough Phantoms. The 23-year-old, who stands 6’0 and 190 lbs, has progressed through the Phantoms system and developed into a mature, dependable NIHL National forward. In 2024/25 he posted 30 points (14 goals, 16 assists) in 48 games, showing his ability to contribute offensively while remaining committed to the defensive side of the game. Hunt is known for his engine, mobility, and smart positioning, thriving on faceoffs, in puck retrievals, and on the penalty kill. Number 96 is the type of centre every team values: responsible in his own zone, competitive in battles, and capable of stepping up against tough opposition. Lightning fans can expect a workhorse forward who makes a difference in the details and helps tilt tight games.

View from the Coach “Jarvis is responsible and competitive. He does the little things that matter and he’s trusted in key situations,” said Tim Wallace.

Hull Seahawks: Notable Players

Emil Svec

Milton Keynes Lightning face off against the Hull Seahawks tonight at Planet Ice in a fixture that rarely disappoints. Hull arrive with one of the NIHL’s most balanced attacks, blending established firepower with energetic young talent—all intent on testing MK’s home form.

Emil Svec has been the heartbeat of Hull’s offence since their NIHL return, and his numbers continue to underline his consistency. The Czech forward followed a 111-point campaign in 2023–2024 with another triple-digit season last year (2024–2025 • NIHL • Hull Seahawks: GP 51, G–A–P 46–56–102, PIM 46). Svec’s direct skating and willingness to shoot early make him the kind of forward who punishes hesitation. Now in his fourth season in Hull colours, he remains the player MK can least afford to give time or space.

Bobby Chamberlain

Few players embody Hull’s edge like Bobby Chamberlain. Back in his hometown after a spell with Lightning, Chamberlain is again producing at pace, blending experience with trademark physicality (2024–2025 • NIHL • Hull Seahawks: GP 51, G–A–P 50–46–96, PIM 184). He’s capable of flipping a game’s rhythm with a heavy shift or a goal from nothing, and his history with Lightning ensures extra bite in these encounters. His presence around the crease and willingness to absorb contact make him a constant thorn for opposing defences.

Dylan Hehir

Dylan Hehir offers the contrast: less flash, more control. The former Leeds Knight is settling into his new role in Hull, bringing structured play and steady defensive awareness (2025–2026 • NIHL • Hull Seahawks: GP 14, G–A–P 0–5–5, PIM 4). Having logged over 50 games for Leeds last season, he knows how to handle high-tempo matchups. Hehir’s transitional reads and disciplined stick work may not fill highlight reels, but they give Hull the stability to release their big guns up ice—a quiet but vital contribution in fixtures like this.
