Last Week's Man of the Match
4 - Archie Salisbury

1 - Jordan Hedley

In Saturday’s hard-fought battle against the Leeds Knights, it was Archie Salisbury who earned Man of the Match honours. Archie found the back of the net and impressed with his relentless work rate, strong physical play, and composure throughout the game — a standout performance on home ice.
On Sunday, in a tight contest against the Sheffield Steeldogs, Jordan Hedley claimed the award. The in-form netminder stood tall between the pipes, making several key saves to keep Lightning in the game. Despite a narrow overtime loss, Hedley’s performance was a highlight of the night.
Coach's Comments
Tim Wallace - MKL Head Coach

We have some work to do to get everyone back on track and on the same page. What an atomosphere and opportunity we had on Saturday and to let it slip away was a tough pill to swallow. The amount of battles we lost on the weekend is uncharacteristic and unacceptable. What we do when this adversity comes is what will bond us together. We will do whatever it takes to get the most out of each and everyone of us. I am excited for the challenge that this month has in store.

Player Profile
37 - Patrik Forsberg

Patrik Forsberg – Forward/Defence (#37)
Finnish utility player Patrik Forsberg has proven himself to be one of MK Lightning’s most versatile and valuable assets. Capable of playing both as a forward and on the blue line, Forsberg brings size, composure, and an intelligent all-round game. In 2024/25, he was a consistent producer for the Lightning, tallying 5 goals and 21 assists for 26 points in 26 games — impressive numbers that underline his ability to contribute offensively while still providing defensive reliability. With years of experience across Finland’s Mestis, Sweden’s HockeyEttan, and even spells in France and Belgium, Forsberg’s depth of knowledge and calm presence make him a leader on and off the ice. Number 37 gives MK tactical flexibility, the ability to stabilise any line he joins, and a wealth of experience to draw upon in key situations.
View from the Coach “Patrik gives us experience and versatility,” said Tim Wallace. “He can play forward or defence, and that flexibility is a huge asset. He’s got great vision, makes smart plays, and is a player who makes the team around him better.”

Telford Tigers: Notable Players
David Thomson

David Thomson brings proven scoring pedigree wherever he goes, and his impact in Telford has been immediate. After posting a huge return last term with 62 points for the Tigers in 2024–2025 NIHL action, he’s carried that pace into this campaign with 18 points from just seven games (2025–2026 • NIHL • Telford Tigers: GP 7, G–A–P 8–10–18, PIM 0). With a career tally topping 400 points, the Canadian forward’s blend of vision and execution makes him a constant danger on the rush and a natural focal point of the Tigers’ Orange offence. Brynley Capps

Rising star Brynley Capps has made a seamless leap from prospect to professional. Still only 18, the Great Britain international continues to show why Coventry and Telford are investing in his development. After lighting up NIHL 1 with 67 points for Romford Buccaneers in 2023–2024, he’s now finding his feet within the NIHL (2025–2026 • Telford Tigers: GP 7, G–A–P 3–2–5, PIM 2). Quick hands and fearless puck pursuit mark him out as one to keep tabs on whenever the ice opens up. Photo: Coventry Blaze
Eric Henderson

Eric Henderson adds balance and brains to Telford’s top six. A former OHL forward with London and Oshawa, he’s evolved into a dual threat—comfortable setting up team-mates or finishing chances himself. Last season he ranked among the NIHL’s most productive playmakers, registering 84 points for the Tigers (2024–2025 • NIHL • Telford Tigers: GP 42, G–A–P 29–55–84, PIM 12). His early form this year shows no slowdown, and his chemistry with Thomson remains a key weapon in the visitors’ attack. Photo credit: Telford Tigers
