Last Week's Man of the Match

23 - Dominik Gabaj
86 - Sean Norris

Opening our league campaign with a bang, Dominik Gabaj was named Man of the Match after a superb performance in MK Lightning’s 7–2 victory over the Bristol Pitbulls. The forward contributed 1 goal and 3 assists, setting the tone for an electric start to the season and showcasing his skill across the ice.

Sunday’s clash at Telford was a tougher battle, and despite a team loss, Sean Norris delivered a standout performance. Scoring 2 goals and adding an assist, he worked tirelessly across all areas of the ice, keeping the team in contention and showing great determination.

Coach's Comments

Tim Wallace - MKL Head Coach

On Saturday, I thought we came out with really good pace and focus. At times we took some risks, but I liked our intensity. Our speed created opportunities, we drew some power plays, and we were very efficient on the man advantage. When we had breakdowns, Heds made the saves we needed, and we were able to build momentum and pull away as the game went on.

Sunday was a different story. We lost too many foot races and battles, and our penalty kill wasn’t sharp. We didn’t fully get to our game until the third period. We needed more from a lot of guys, but I did like the way we responded and pushed back late.

We’ll learn from this, take the positives, and continue to move forward.
