The lifestack Milton Keynes Lightning are delighted to announce that homegrown forward Lewis Conroy will return to the club for the 2026/27 NIHL National season.

A product of the Milton Keynes juniors, Conroy continues his progression within the organisation after gaining valuable experience around the Lightning roster during the 2025/26 campaign. Having developed through the Milton Keynes Storm programme, the talented young forward has consistently demonstrated the skill, work ethic and commitment required to take the next steps in his hockey career.

Conroy made his introduction to senior hockey with the Lightning last season aged just 16, combining training opportunities with appearances at National League level as he continued his development within the juniors at under 19s for MK and Guildford U19 Nationals, as well as NIHL2 for MK Thunder.  This season Conroy will be on a 2 way contract with a team below the NIHL and lifestack MK Lightning to ensure he gains valuable ice time for his development.

The young forward has earned recognition for his maturity, hockey IQ and willingness to learn from experienced teammates and coaches. Speaking about his return, Conroy said:

“I’m delighted to be returning to Milton Keynes Lightning for the upcoming season.  Last season was an important one for me, and I’m incredibly grateful for the way the club, coaches, teammates, and supporters welcomed me from day one. Their support helped me grow in confidence, not only on the ice but off it as well, and played a huge part in my development as I continue my senior hockey career.  I’m excited to get back to work, reconnect with the group, and continue building on what we achieved last season. I’m looking forward to contributing however I can and helping push for success as we chase silverware together this season.  See you all soon – let’s make it a memorable year for Milton Keynes Lightning!”

Milton Keynes Lightning Head Coach Pete Russell said:

“I’m pleased to have Lewis back next season. Lewis has come through the Milton Keynes Junior system, and was introduced to the Lightning mainly with training last year and we want to continue the partnership and the pathway into MKL. Lewis will take more steps this year.”

Everyone at lifestack Milton Keynes Lightning would like to congratulate Lewis on his return and wish him every success for the 2026/27 season.
