On Monday Aaron from All in Black and some AIB head office staff, together with Dave and Rebecca from the MKL Supporters Club had the pleasure of delivering the amazing donations from MK Lightning Fans, to Unity MK (formally the Winter night shelter).

In difficult times like these it’s heartwarming to see so many people helping out those in need.  Claire from Unity MK it is clear just how much of an impact these donations will make.

Dave from the MKL Supporters club said, ‘Once again the MK Lightning fans have out-done themselves in terms of generosity for others. Being able to deliver such a large amount of donations for the second year in a row and see the people this is going to help is an experience that will stay with me forever. No matter the cause when people are in need our fans are there to support and I couldn’t be prouder to be part of such an amazing group of people.’

Aaron from All in Black said, ‘Having the privilege of being able to support those in need is something I am extremely proud of, working alongside the MKL Supporters Club for another year collecting and delivering donations to the Milton Keynes Homeless Shelter was such a humbling experience. It never ceases to amaze me the generosity of Lightning fans and being able to support so many charities and our local community throughout the season is we should all be proud of.’

Claire, from Unity MK, said, ‘The amazing generosity of the MKL fans means we are better stocked than we have been for some time.  The food items will last us for the next three months, if not longer, meaning our shopping bill will be drastically reduced, and the toiletries might even see us into 2025! One of our guests was helping me to move the donations yesterday, and he came across a backpack that he was really taken with, we asked him if he’d like it and he was so pleased- it was also his 50th birthday yesterday, so that really helped to make his day!’

Tom From MKL said “This time of year can be especially difficult for some, and we are pleased to have worked with Aaron and Dave as part of our Community Foundation to try and make life a little easier. We can see how valuable this support is for the shelter and we’d like to thank MK Lightning fans for their generosity and support. Thank you also to Aaron from AIB and Dave from the Supporters Club for driving this initiative forwards.”

Thanks to Hollie from AIB for the great photos and words.
