Milton Keynes Lightning can today confirm the departure of Head Coach Tim Wallace.
Over the past two seasons, Tim has led the club to silverware and some unforgettable moments, none more so than last year’s Playoff Championship, a real high point in MK Lightning history. Beyond the trophies, Tim has raised the bar for professionalism, preparation and standards across the organisation, bringing all of his playing and coaching experience to Milton Keynes.
His impact reaches far beyond our club. Tim has played a huge role in developing players who have progressed to Elite League careers, strengthening the wider UK game and reinforcing MK Lightning’s reputation as a place where talent grows and thrives. He also inspired young players through his well regarded Journey to the Top Hockey Camps.
Just as importantly, Tim has been a fantastic person to work alongside. He is approachable, positive and deeply respected by players, staff and everyone around the club. He will be greatly missed, both professionally and personally.
Tim Wallace said:
“I want to sincerely thank the Club for giving me the opportunity to serve as Head Coach of Milton Keynes Lightning. It has meant a great deal to me and my family to be part of this organisation. I am incredibly proud of the players and staff I had the privilege to work alongside.
Milton Keynes will always hold a special place in our hearts, and I am deeply grateful to the supporters and wider community for the belief and energy they brought to the team. We shared some unforgettable moments together, and I will always value those memories. I wish nothing but the best for everyone involved with the Lightning.”
MK Lightning Director Tom Roberts said:
“Tim has made an exceptional contribution to Milton Keynes ice hockey. This was an incredibly difficult decision because his depth of knowledge, professionalism and the pleasure of working with him are qualities I valued every single day. I will miss working with him greatly, our daily conversations, and the friendship we built. On behalf of everyone at the club, I wish Tim and his family every success and happiness in the future, and I thank him sincerely for everything he has done for Milton Keynes Lightning.”
Everyone at MK Lightning places on record its heartfelt appreciation to Tim Wallace for his dedication and commitment. The trophies achieved during his tenure, together with the culture and standards he has established, leave a lasting legacy at Milton Keynes Lightning.
Thank you, Tim.
