Milton Keynes Lightning are delighted to announce the signing of forward Mac Howlett until the end of the 27/28 season NIHL National Division season. Howlett arrives in Milton Keynes after an outstanding run in the NIHL National Division with Leeds Knights, bringing elite skating ability, high-end playmaking skills, and a proven scoring touch to the Lightning lineup.
The 26-year-old English forward has been a consistent offensive threat in the NIHL. In the 2024/25 NIHL National Division regular season with Leeds Knights he recorded 25 goals and 22 assists for 47 points in 54 games, along with strong contributions in the National Cup and playoffs. Through the early part of 2025/26 he’s continued to produce, adding further goals and assists across league and cup action. These numbers underline his ability to create at high speed and finish in key situations.
Head Coach Tim Wallace expressed his excitement about bringing Howlett to Milton Keynes:
“Mac has proven to be a top player in this league the last few years. He is an elite skater with an ability to make plays at high speed. I’m very excited to see him in a Lightning uniform.”
Howlett’s game is defined by his dynamic skating, offensive instincts, and versatility. Comfortable playing in all forward roles, he combines speed with precision playmaking qualities that have made him one of the most respected forwards in the NIHL. His experience and scoring ability are expected to be key assets for Lightning as the club pushes through the demanding remainder of the season.
