He’s an absolute talent, combining speed, skill and a heart of gold.  Please welcome back Sean Norris to the 2022/23 Lightning team.

22 year old Sean was born in Ascot, and spent the early part of his career in the Bracknell junior system before spending a couple of seasons in the Czech republic at under 18 and under 20 level.  His UK breakthrough came as he moved into playing senior hockey for Slough Jets, picking up an impressive 35 goals and 79 points in just 24 games in the 2018/19 season, when he also made 19 appearances for MK Thunder picking up a further 11 points.  In 2019/20 he initially signed a 2 way for Slough and Basingstoke, before making the Bison his first priority for the rest of the season.  In that NIHL National season he picked up 30 points in 23 games.

Last year for Lightning, Sean was phenomenal, picking up 37 goals and 48 assists in 59 games across League, Cup and Playoffs.  He finished 11th in the overall league scoring charts, and 9th in the playoff tables.  He became known for tremendous skating ability, speed, agility, stickhandling and shooting.  He was also not afraid to embrace the physical side of the game.

MKL Player Head Coach Tim Wallace told us what he thought: “Sean is a great player with a great attitude and work ethic.  I think he shoots the puck as well as many players in the NHL, and I hope to see him turn into a true pro in the coming years.  I’m happy I get to develop him and hopefully watch him shine.”

Sean says of returning to AIB MK Lightning “With the best fans in the league where else would I want to be for the next season. I’m excited and ready to go.”

Towards the end of the season we saw Sean’s character really come to life at the end of games, when he joins the mascots for their lap of honour.  He said that having been a mascot himself, he just wanted them to feel at ease and know what to do, so he stepped up to help them out.  That combined with some fun photos with Stewy when we won showed shows the kind of man Sean is.

Sean’s will again wear the number 86 jersey and his Own and Loan is available now.  Please email dave@b2promodesign.com for details!
