This time last year, we were thrilled to announce a new partnership with Brioche Pasquier.

With everything that followed, we didn’t really get the opportunity to work together as originally envisaged.

The All In Black MK Lightning are therefore delighted  to announce that Brioche Pasquier are once again working with us as Official Engagement and Communities Partner.

Brioche Pasquier plays a significant role in the Milton Keynes community and surrounding area through their relationship with local schools, Universities, charities and partnerships. MK Lightning is excited to have their support for the 2021/22 season as we extend our community involvement.

Brioche Pasquier is a well-known, global food brand with a presence in Milton Keynes since 2001. Its product range includes PITCH, one of the company’s most popular products, which are delicious brioche rolls with chocolate chips or filled with a smooth, hazelnut chocolate centre. They are perfect for on-the-go, a quick snack or as a treat in children’s lunch boxes.

Speaking about the continuation of the relationship, Amy Carey, a Marketing Executive from Brioche Pasquier told us: “It has been a challenging period for so many of us, but it is great that we are now able to look forward to a new season both on and off the ice. With the arena open and matches scheduled, it will be great to finally fuel the MK Lightning fans and team with our delicious PITCH Brioche Rolls. Recent events meant that we didn’t really get started, but we are determined as ever that for the upcoming season, through our club partnership and also as a partner of the Engagement Programme; to help educate young people on the importance of sport.”

The Engagement Programme will build on earlier work with local schools. This will see MK Lightning Head Coach Lewis Clifford and his players heading into schools (virtually if required) to share information about Ice Hockey, how to get involved in the sport, and the importance of exercise and a balanced diet as part of overall health.

MK Lightning CEO Claire Eason-Bassett explained the importance of the partnership: “If the past year has taught us anything, it has taught us the value of inclusion and community. MKL has been active in the Milton Keynes community since we were formed in 2002 and we’re delighted that Brioche Pasquier is supporting us as we look to further develop our work in this area. Together we will be working to ensure that we are playing our role in the community and adopting the ‘Hockey is for Everyone’ principles of inclusion, openness, and consideration.”

“We will be working to increase awareness of ice hockey in the broadest of communities, drive interest in participation and ensure everyone feels welcome and excited to attend an Ice Hockey match.”

MK Lightning Head Coach Lewis Clifford added: “By working with local schools and communities we are able to bring more people into the game. That means breaking down the barriers to both watching and playing the sport that we love. We remain committed to our long-term plan of developing our MK Hockey Family, working with MK Storm juniors and Planet Ice, to provide the Lightning players of the future. It is great to have Brioche Pasquier’s support for me and the team, visiting schools and engaging with staff and students.”

Thank you to Brioche Pasquier for their continued support as our Official Engagement and Community partner. Look out for them in your child’s school assembly and be sure to pick up some delicious samples of PITCH during the season!
