Smith Recycling Milton Keynes Lightning Head Coach Lewis Clifford met with Ari Närhi and it has been agreed that Ari will leave the club with immediate effect. Ari scored 7 goals in 18 appearances for MKL this year.  We’d like to thank him for his contribution, and wish him all the best for the future.

Joining us is Robin Kovar, who brings a wealth of British hockey experience from stints with Manchester, Swindon, Blackburn and most recently Bracknell where he was a thorn in MK’s side in this season’s meetings between the teams.  Czech born Robin was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers and has played in the UK, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Hungary, Kazakhstan, and Canada.

Robin will be joining us for a trial period until Christmas.

Speaking about Robin, Clifford had this to say: “We’ve seen what Robin can do across many seasons of strong performances in UK hockey, most recently when he played for Bracknell and scored an annoying number of goals against us!  Our hope is that Robin can bring a renewed goal-scoring threat and help us convert more of that chances we are creating.  His knowledge of the British game will be useful in helping him settle in quickly.”

We’ve decided on a trial basis so that both myself and Robin can see if this is the right move for both of us.  Speaking to him, he’s highly motivated to make an impact, and as a personal trainer himself he’s in the peak of physical condition”

Please join us in welcoming Robin to MKL.

Robin will wear the #30 shirt which is now available for Own & Loan.

You can now apply for the Robin Kovar “Own and Loan” jersey by emailing dave@b2promodesign.com – please indicate which jersey you would like.
