MK Lightning play a fast and physical sport, and safety is, of course, our top priority. Having the right support off the ice, readiness for if an emergency arises and access to key training and advice is game changing. Playing a key role in all these areas is our Official Medical Partner for this season, Acute Ambulance & Medical Services. We welcome them back as they continue their tremendous support for the club.

Acute Ambulance & Medical Services provide a paramedic led ambulance crew for all MKL home matches to ensure that significant match injuries can be handled quickly and safely. For matches when we have large crowds they also supply a trained event practitioner in addition to the existing spectator cover, to ensure you will receive the best care when attending a match should the need arise.

Last year they provided equipment and advice to support our away games which Liam our team medic put to good use throughout the season for the team and away fans alike. AAMS continued the provision of an Automated Emergency Defibrillator in the rink, and training and advice. The AED will continue to be at the rink for the coming season.

In addition to this, Acute Ambulance and Medical Services are training Liam on the First Response Emergency Care (FREC) framework, to ensure the team have the best care on the road.

About Acute Ambulance and Medical Services

A.A.M.S have had a busy year and successful year.  They have moved to a new, larger facility, and now provide First Aid training courses too.

A.A.M.S was formed in 2006 and rapidly established itself as a provider of excellence in the fields of Ambulance Transportation and Event Cover, and now provide First Aid training courses too.

Working closely with local hospitals, Primary Care Trusts and NHS Ambulance Trusts in the Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire areas, our provision of service excellence has helped us to grow steadily since our formation.

We provide medical teams for England Athletics, England Hockey & England Netball. We have crews at 3 Super league Netball clubs and 3 Championship Rugby clubs as well as providing medical cover to Manchester Marathon & Half Marathon along with the Blenheim Palace Triathlon. We also provide medical cover for corporate event days, team building activities, festivals, fun days & social occasions.

Acute Ambulance & Medical Services provide a paramedic led ambulance crew for all MKL home matches to ensure that significant match injuries can be handled quickly and safely. This year they are extending this to provide equipment and advice to support out away games, continuing provision of an Automated Emergency Defibrillator in the rink, and training and advice.

We are also delighted that this year Acute Ambulance & Medical Services will be sponsoring Ross Venus. They have a huge history of supporting MKL players in the past, and Ross will be next to enjoy meeting the Acute Ambulance & Medical Services team, getting to know them and seeing what they do.

Tom Roberts from MKL had this to say: “We are delighted to have Acute Ambulance & Medical Services as our Official Medical Partner once more. They have shown that they set the bar for fantastic support, providing support for our players, staff and fans on a matchnight. You only need to spend a short period of time with Kieren and his team to understand that Acute Ambulance & Medical Services is a fantastic, motivated, well-run organisation which is playing a vital role in the community. We look forward to working with them.

Speaking about the partnership from his point of view, Acute Ambulance & Medical Services Founder and Managing Director Kieren Gibson had this to say “The whole team at A.A.M.S are thrilled to continue supporting MKL for another season. Our relationship has grown year on year and it’s great to be involved with the team and our local community. We’re delighted to sponsor Ross for the new season and look forward to assisting him and the team in whatever way we can”

We’d like to thank Acute Ambulance and Medical Services for their continued support as a Platinum Partner.
