Milton Keynes Lightning are delighted, and hugely grateful, to welcome Lewis Christie back onto the ice this weekend, providing vital support for the team while several players continue their recoveries.

Last weekend saw Lightning battle through with just four defencemen. They performed superbly under pressure, but the demands of 30-plus minutes a night are not something the club wishes to make a habit of.  Bringing in Lewy from the bench gives the blue line the depth and stability it needs at a crucial moment in the season.

Head Coach Tim Wallace said:
“I am very thankful that Lewy was willing to step up and do whatever is needed for the club. This has always been his mindset throughout his time here and I wouldn’t expect anything less. Lewy will keep it simple and play a smart game.”

Lewis Christie added:
“Getting back out there in training last night got the adrenaline pumping, and I’m ready to help the boys in any way I can. This club means a lot to me, and it just felt right to lace them up again.”

Although Lewy’s number hangs proudly in the rafters, there was never any question about what he would wear on his return to the ice. There is only one number that feels right for him and for the fans, so Lewy will once again take to the ice in number 66 for MK Lightning.
