This season’s playoffs were brighter, louder, and more meaningful than ever as MK Lightning proudly ‘Pinked the Rink’ in support of Breast Cancer Now. With the theme chosen to raise awareness and show solidarity, our playoff campaign became about more than just hockey — it became a movement of community, colour, and compassion.

From the moment fans walked through the doors of Planet Ice Milton Keynes, it was clear: pink was the colour of the playoffs. Our players took to the ice in eye-catching pink warm-up jerseys, and the MKL faithful rose to the occasion — turning the stands into a sea of pink at home games and once again at the Final Four weekend in Coventry.

A special thank you must go to Jayne Leggett, Lisa Maciver, Scott Maciver, Mike Walls, Charlie McMillan, and Gary Cockram, who gave up their time to help transform the Coventry stands into a pink haven of support.
Our heartfelt thanks also go to Dave from the Supporters Club, who put in a tremendous effort designing and producing an array of incredible pink merchandise — from t-shirts and hoodies to pucks, hats, and player cards. His dedication helped make ‘Pink the Rink’ a huge success and something fans will never forget.
Even Samoan Joes Tiki Bar in Coventry got in on the action, kindly hosting MK Lightning fans throughout the weekend and mixing up a special Pink Bolt Lightning cocktail in support of the theme – helping to bring fans together off the ice in true MKL style.

Fans were also handed pink rally flags at each home playoff fixture and during the Coventry weekend — a visual wave of support that carried the team through each battle. Head Coach Tim Wallace summed it up perfectly, saying:
“The fans were incredible. The flags created an electric, NHL-like atmosphere.”
Now, following our incredible playoff run and Championship victory, MK Lightning and the MKL Supporters Club have proudly made a donation to Breast Cancer Now.

To every fan, volunteer, sponsor, and supporter: thank you. Your energy, passion, and support throughout the season — and especially during our winning playoff campaign — truly made a difference.
