Milton Keynes Lightning is thrilled to announce the return of defenceman Edward Knaggs for the 2025/26 NIHL National season. A product of the Milton Keynes Storm youth system, Knaggs has become a cornerstone of the Lightning’s blue line, known for his reliability and leadership on and off the ice.
Standing at 5’11” and weighing 165 lbs, the 26-year-old Hemel Hempstead native brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the game. His commitment to the team’s success and his ability to perform under pressure have made him an invaluable asset to the Lightning’s roster. Last year, he had a bumper year for goals, scoring 5 with 18 assists
Knaggs expressed his enthusiasm about rejoining the team for a fourth consecutive season:
“Really excited to be back at MK for another season, proud to be able to call this club home. Off the back of last year myself and the team are eager to win more silverware, I can’t wait get started again September time in front of the MKL Barmy Army!!”
Head Coach Tim Wallace shared his thoughts on Knaggs’ return:
“Knaggsy played some of the best hockey I’ve seen from him during the final months of the season. He is an extremely coachable player who quietly goes about his business and leads by example. His work ethic and willingness to do the little things right make him a valuable part of our team. We’re excited to have him back and look forward to seeing him continue to build on that momentum next season.”
As the Lightning gear up for the upcoming season, the return of Edward Knaggs solidifies the team’s defensive lineup. Fans can look forward to seeing #25 back in action, bringing his trademark tenacity and skill to the ice.
